Description1970 World Series Game Used Third Base (Bronzed) from The Brooks Robinson Collection. We'll allow the affixed engraved brass plaque tell the tale of this wonderful presentation piece to the 1970 World Series Most Valuable Player:
"Brooks C. Robinson, Baltimore Orioles, Outstanding Player 1970 World Series.
Made the impossible appear commonplace in robbing 4 Cincinnati batters of sure base hits. Set record for most total bases in 5-game Series (17). Equaled record for 5-game Series for most hits in one game (4) and most total hits (9).
Presented by the Maryland Professional Baseball Players Association, Tops in Sports Banquet, January 8, 1971."
With historic game use, decades of ownership by a true baseball legend, and spectacular display value, this is a relic which (pardon the pun) truly has every base covered. Included is a snapshot of Robinson holding the base at the banquet where it was presented. Letter of provenance from Brooks Robinson.
