Description
1970's-2000's Willie McCovey "WM 44" & "Mac 44" License Plates Lot of 6 from The Willie McCovey Collection. Cool lot with a lot of swag features two California state license plates with "WM 44," three California state license plates with "Mac 44" and one Nevada state license plate with "Mac-44."The two "WM 44" plates were originally on the Cadillac which Stretch received as a gift from the San Francisco Giants as part of the Willie McCovey Day celebration at Candlestick Park on September 18, 1977. This lot includes a vintage 8x10" photograph from that day of the automobile on-field with the front plate clearly visible.
Also included in this lot are three images (8x10", 4x6" and 3.5x5") which style match five of the six plates, three "Lexus" license plate frames, and eleven California state "Disabled Person" parking tags from 1999-2019. Letter of provenance from Willie McCovey's widow.
