1970 Baltimore Orioles World Championship Ring Presented to Harry Dalton. His first order of business upon being named the successor to departing general manager Lee MacPhail in 1965 was to complete a trade that brought Frank Robinson to Baltimore, where he would confirm Dalton's genius with a Triple Crown performance in his Orioles debut season. It was also Dalton who hired Earl Weaver as manager and acquired key players like Mike Cuellar, Pat Dobson and Don Buford, which should give some indication as to why the franchise chose to honor this baseball mastermind in the Orioles Hall of Fame.Presented is the second World Series Championship ring earned by Dalton as general manager for the Birds, a Fall Classic populated with legends like Jim Palmer, Brooks and Frank Robinson, Pete Rose and Johnny Bench. A miniature of Baltimore Memorial Stadium adorns the face of the ring, holding a diamond measuring approximately three quarters of a carat. "Baltimore Orioles World Champions" traces the perimeter in raised lettering. Left shank features an enameled design celebrating the American League Championship, while the right provides an Orioles cap, glove and ball in miniature with a bold "1970" and the engraved name "H. Dalton."
Interior band is stamped "Jostens 14K" and measures to a size eleven and a half. Fine condition. Letter of provenance from Harry Dalton's daughter.
