With letter of provenance from Rawlings senior glove designer

1965 Mickey Mantle Game Used Fielder's Glove, PSA/DNA Authentic. Without the blazing foot speed of Mickey Mantle, the name Don Larsen would be familiar only to a rare few baseball historians, but the Mick's improbable theft of Gil Hodges' gapper in the top of the fifth preserved his Game Five perfection and ably illustrated that Triple Crown offensive brilliance was only part of the story in 1956. Nearly a decade later, age and injury had clogged the turbo booster that made Mantle the top five-tool player of the American League, and for the first time since he had shared an outfield with Joe DiMaggio, the center field grass of Yankee Stadium belonged to another.

The provided Rawlings XPG-6H glove found the Mick trading places with former left fielder Tom Tresh, just one chapter in sports' endless tale of age giving way to youth. The glove displays wear characterized as "outstanding" by the experts at PSA/DNA, suggesting that this was his primary gamer. His number "7" appears a few times in fading black marker on the wrist. His facsimile signature is stamped into the palm.

The glove is accompanied by a letter of provenance from Rawlings' senior glove designer Bob Clevenhagen who provides further assurance of authenticity, writing, in part, "This particular model 'XPG6-H' Pro stock glove was made exclusively for Mickey Mantle for the 1965-66 season." And included September 1964 issue of Sport Magazine finds Mickey wearing an identical style on the cover. Mantle gloves are very rare and enormously coveted--this is the first we have offered. LOA from PSA/DNA, Authentic. Letter of provenance from Bob Clevenhagen.
