    Description

1964 New York Yankees American League Championship Rolex Presented to Tony Kubek. After plating eight runs against the legendary Bob Gibson in the second game of the World Series, the mighty Yanks could find no answer for the ace Cardinal in Games Five and Seven and were forced to settle for only an American League Championship in 1964. This is one heck of a consolation prize, a gorgeous stainless steel Rolex in one of the earliest Daytona styles. We can't attest with certitude that all functions are currently operational but the watch does run and could surely be coaxed back into youthful perfection by a skilled horologist. Verso is engraved with the details of the presentation beneath the classic hat and bat team logo: "1964 American League Champions, Presented to Anthony C. Kubek." A special piece that will tempt collectors of various stripes.

Another major house refused the work stating it was too unique for the artist. Heritage saw that as an advantage!
