    Description

1964 Clarence "Pants" Rowland Wisconsin Hall of Fame Certificate. The pride of Platteville, Wisconsin was Clarence "Pants" Rowland. The minor league backstop received his nickname when he arrived for a game wearing his brother's pants, which were a few sizes too big. Ridicule, and his unshakable nickname, followed.

Rowland made his biggest splash as skipper for the Chicago White Sox. He managed the pale hose to a World Series title in 1917 before exiting after 1918. We all know what happened next.

Offered is Rowland's personal Certificate of Election into the Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame. Each of the committee members, eleven total, have signed on. The most notable signatures are Oliver Kuechle and Arthur Daley. Also included is an 8x10"of Rowland's Baseball Hall of Fame plaque signed by Rowland to his daughter "To Beulah With Love Dad."
