Description

1963 "National League Home Run Champion" Trophy Presented to Willie McCovey from The Willie McCovey Collection. Mac attained superstar status in 1963 after he tied Henry Aaron for the N.L. home run crown with forty-four four-baggers. He also scored 103 runs, drove in 102 runs, batted .280, and was selected to his first All-Star team.

After his remarkable season, McCovey was awarded the trophy offered here. Gorgeous silver metal batsman sits stop a sturdy white marble base. Inscription plat reads "Willie McCovey, National League Home Run Champion 1963. Presented by San Francisco Baseball Writers." Measures fourteen and a half inches (14.5") high and weighs 6.6 pounds. Letter of provenance from Willie McCovey's widow.
