Description

1962 Bob Gibson Signed Uniform Player's Contract. Along with Sandy Koufax, Bob Gibson is remembered as one of the two most dominating pitchers of the 1960's. And like Koufax, he was at his best when the games were the most consequential. His diamond resume includes nine All-Star berths, nine Gold Gloves, two Cy Young Awards, a league MVP, two World Series titles, two Fall Classic MVPs and membership on the All-Century Team.

Offered here is his contract from the 1962 season when he posted fifteen wins, a 2.85 ERA, 208 K's and a 5.6 WAR, while leading the N.L. in shutouts and ERA+, and earning his first All-Star selection. The Cardinals agree to pay the sum of "$14,000" and the document is signed by Gibson, N.L. President Warren Giles and St. Louis GM Bing Devine, all in 9/10 ink. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from Beckett Authentication Services.
