Description

1961 New York Yankees Team Signed Cut Display. The 1961 New York Yankees were one of the most powerful and iconic teams in baseball history, finishing the regular season with a 109-53 record and winning the American League pennant. Managed by Ralph Houk, the team was led by the legendary slugging duo of Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle, who electrified fans with their pursuit of Babe Ruth's single-season home run record.

Maris ultimately broke the record by hitting 61 home runs, earning the AL MVP award, while Mantle added 54 homers despite battling injuries late in the season. The lineup also featured strong contributions from Yogi Berra, Elston Howard, and Bill Skowron, with a solid pitching staff led by Whitey Ford, who went 25-4 and won the Cy Young Award.

The Yankees capped off the season by defeating the Cincinnati Reds in the World Series, winning in five games and claiming their 19th championship. The 1961 Yankees remain celebrated for their offensive firepower, historical milestones, and dominance during one of the franchise's golden eras.

Offered is a 32x40" matted display (ready for frame) that contains an 8x10" photograph signed by Mantle, a souvenir yearbook from the season and signed cuts from squad members Whitey Ford, Ralph Houk, Bill Skowron, Rollie Sheldon, Ralph Terry, Yogi Berra, Johnny Sain, Tony Kubek, Bill Stafford, Héctor López, Joe DeMaestri, Frankie Crosetti, Jim Hegan, Jim Coates, Tex Clevenger, Art Ditmar, Al Downing, Earl Torgeson, Clete Boyer, Bobby Richardson, Luis Arroyo, Johnny Blanchard, Roger Maris, Tom Tresh, Hal Reniff, Jack Reed, Bob Turley, Bob Cerv, Bud Daley, Billy Gardner, Bob Hale, Wally Moses, Ryne Duren, Jesse Gonder, and Elston Howard.
