1961 Cincinnati Reds National League Championship Salesman's Sample Ring.
It was the first taste of Fall Classic action in Cincy since back-to-back appearances in 1939 and 1940, but the New York Yankees and their hard-slugging M&M Boys would prove too great a challenge. Presented is a salesman's sample of the ring format earned by Frank Robinson and the boys for capturing the Senior Circuit flag.

A faux diamond is sent into a red stone on the ring face at the center of raised text reporting, "National League Champions." Left and right shank feature team logo and mascot respectively, each positioned above a crossed bats and ball motif denoting "1961" vintage. Interior band is stamped, "Josten 14K" and measures to a size ten (10). Weight is twenty-eight grams (28 g.). Pristine condition.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
