1960's Jake Gibbs Game Worn New York Yankees Helmet.
Jake Gibbs had a choice when it came time to decide his future. He could either star on the gridiron or the diamond as he was drafted by AFL and NFL teams along with the Yankees. He made a wise choice as he enjoyed a ten-year career with the Yankees as a catcher. This heavily worn headgear served Gibbs during his time in New York. The fiberglass "American Baseball Cap size 7 3/8" offering shows great game wear. Two cracks on the back signaled the end of the line. "Gibbs 41" is dymo labeled on the reverse while the inside features a size/manufacture label and piece of athletic tape with "41" written. The leather cushioning is intact. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
