1960's Baseball Nodders Lot of 17. The charming "nodders" were made in Japan for America's national pastime, and if they underwhelmed in the 1960's the passage of time has done nothing but enhance their desirability and allure. This is a highly attractive grouping of 14 of the Square Base edition and three of the Color Base series. The presentation is generally Ex or even Ex-Mt, though almost all of the nodders have some faint writing on the shirt back where a collector toyed with adding an actual player number to his treasure. On four of the nodders - Athletics, Angels and Yankees (2) - the collector used a blue pen to fill in the pinstripes on the uniforms. The lineup of 1960-62 Color Bases (3) - 1) Yankees: slight chipping to base, no writing on shirt back; 2) Giants: Small chip under bill of cap and glove, chipping on orange base and city name letters; 3) Indians: The very difficult series, has chipping to base on "Cleveland" letters and paint loss on feather. The 1961-63 White Base (14) - 4) Orioles: minimal tiny scuffing and virtually problem free, save for back writing; 5) Red Sox: Flat Bill With Ball, 1/2-inch chip on lower cap bill, typical slight decal yellowing; 6) Cardinals: Very difficult series, with some chipping to protruding edges, beak, cap bill, elbow; 7) Braves: Chipping to mohawk, otherwise problem free except writing; 8) Athletics: slight chipping to base, face, cap; 9) Colt .45's: virtually problem free, save for writing on back; 10) Angels: virtually problem free, save for writing on back; 11) White Sox: small chip on bill of cap; 12) Cubs: Small chip on ear and cap bill, loss of paint to "s" on Cubs on shirt; 13) Senators: virtually problem free except writing on shirt back; 14) Phillies: Has 1-by-.5-inch chunk missing from back of head at bottom, otherwise problem free, except for the shirt back writing; 15) Mets: paint loss to sleeves and writing on shirt back; 16) Twins: Chip to base and right sleeve; 17) Yankees: several cracks on lower head, pinstripes and No. 7 added in ball-point ink.
