    Description

1960 Jackie Robinson Signed Check. This signed check from Jackie Roosevelt Robinson has several things going for it to help it surpass the average Robinson check. the signature itself is a bold 10/10 "Jack Robinson" in blue ball point pen, which will make for a stunning display. Beyond that, though, this check offers a personal glimpse into Robinson's heart as it is made out to the "African American Student Foundation." Considering the crucial role he played in integrating baseball, and part of America at large as a result, a check made out to another group focused on racial equality is a nice touch. Finally, the check includes direct provenance to Rachel Robinson which always helps up the value considerably. Cancellation holes are well away from the signature, and the only real flaw to even mention is a very tiny streak of blue ink to the left of his signature. Letter of provenance from Rachel Robinson. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA, Authentic. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
