1959 Roy Campanella Presentational Award from Sports Broadcasters Association. A devastating automobile accident in January 1958 would end the career of one of the most beloved Bums of all, and ensure that Campy would retire a Brooklyn Dodger. His remarkable strength and perseverance in the face of great adversity is the stuff of legend, and the presented lot stands as a testament to the "Courage and Class" of the Hall of Fame catcher. Presented almost one year to the day after the accident, the wood and engraved metal plaque derives directly from Campy's estate. Dimensions approximately 13x15".
