1958 George Weiss World Series Tray Presented by the Commissioner. Weiss was arguably the most successful general managers in the history of Major League Baseball, and this sterling silver 12" in diameter serving tray was presented to him following the Yankees' World Series victory over the Milwaukee Braves in 1958. It is inscribed on the front, "Presented by the Commissioner of Baseball to George M. Weiss - Yankees - 1958 World Champions." The 25.2 Oz. tray is in Excellent to Mint condition and includes markings on the back by Gorham. Tray comes in an attractive tan-colored cloth bag with draw string. Ironically, the 1958 Series win would be Weiss' last--he and Yankees Manager Casey Stengel would be pushed out after the club's dramatic loss to the Pirates in the World Series two years later.
