    Description

1958-59 Nellie Fox Game Worn Glove. This little glove was as good as Gold for the Hall of Fame second baseman, who sported it during the era of his American League M.V.P. season. Nobody was more "automatic" than the sly Fox in the late 1950's, as he posted fielding percentages that saw him flawless ninety-nine times out of one hundred, earning him the prestigious Gold Glove in '59. We must also note that 1959 was a pennant year for the ChiSox, furthering the argument that we offer here the finest Fox leather on earth. The Wilson A2050 shows excellent wear throughout, with Nellie's name imprinted on the pinky above the words "Personal Model." The trail of provenance follows this glove from Fox' left hand to Yankee third baseman Andy Carey, who then made a gift of the Cooperstown-quality artifact to Chicago deep-dish pizza founder Lou Malnati. As a Louisville Slugger bat is to the Babe, this Wilson fielder's glove is truly an instrument of greatness. LOA from MEARS.
