    Description

1956 New York Yankees World Series Championship Rolex Gold Wristwatch Presented to Yogi Berra. Mickey Mantle's Triple Crown and Don Larsen's perfect game ensure that the 1956 season will remain forever printed in bold type within the history of the New York Yankees franchise. Here we present one of the most significant mementos of that historic campaign, a gold Rolex wristwatch presented to Larsen's Hall of Fame batterymate to commemorate victory in the last of six Subway Series against the Brooklyn Dodgers.

The Rolex Oyster Perpetual is crafted from fourteen-karat (14k) gold, reference 6593, automatic movement caliber 1030, twenty-five jewels. Original band is likewise fourteen-karat gold. The face bears the historic significance, reading, "1956 World Champions" above the team's celebrated bat and hat logo. Verso is artfully engraved, "Presented to Lawrence P. Berra by the Baseball Commissioner." The watch presents without any visual distractions and does wind and run, though we suspect, after six decades, that it will require a cleaning and adjustment to ensure accurate timekeeping. An all-time great Yankee and and all-time great season--this is genuine collecting gold in more ways than one. Letter of provenance from Berra family.
