    Description

1956 Napoleon Lajoie Signed Government Postcard. Number thirteen on the career hits chart with an impressive 3,242, Lajoie was so popular in his day that the Cleveland ballclub he represented was nicknamed the Naps in his honor. Here we find a 9+/10 blue ink autograph in his standard "Larry Lajoie" format. He adds the date of "5-16-56" and a brief note which reads, "Best Wishes, Send the Ball," obviously giving his consent to provide another autograph to the collector. Postmark from "Holly Hill, FLA" is dated May 17, 1956. Auction LOA from JSA.
