1956 Mel Ott Handwritten Signed Letter. A little over two years before he died in an automobile crash, Mel Ott was asked to sign a picture. The diminutive lefty slugger, the first Senior Circuit member of the 500 home club, didn't have any photos to disperse unfortunately. The autograph seeker didn't go home empty handed though. Ott carefully wrote this letter (5.75x9.5") and signed his name at the bottom in 9/10 blue ink. The letter (mounting holes on the left side) was sent from the New Florida Hotel during Spring Training. "Sorry I do not have any pictures at this time. Should have some later in the season and I will be happy to sent you one. Thank you very much for the good wishes" is written in Ott's hand. Regular mailing marks appear. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from SGC Authentic.
