    Description

1955 New York Yankees American League Champions Salesman's Sample Ring. The Bronx Bombers went all out on their rings this year, perhaps to ease the pain of finally losing to those Bums from Brooklyn, who finally turned the tables on Mick and the boys on the sixth go-round. One of the Yankees' most spectacular designs to date, the ring displays the famed hat and bat logo accented by a bevy of red/white/blue faux gemstones and circled by "American League Champions." The sides are identical with "1955" under a figural baseball.

Mantle, Berra and the rest of the pinstriped crew received rings identical in appearance to the one presented here, which was crafted for approval by the Yankee brass prior to its full run. Interior band is stamped "Balfour 10K," along with the "SA 144299-2" sample code. The ring weighs thirty-four grams (34 g.), measures to a size ten-and-a-half (10.5), comes with Balfour ring box, and presents in fine condition.
