1955 Frank "Home Run" Baker Presentational Wristwatch upon Hall of Fame Induction. It's unclear why a team that never enjoyed the services of this Hall of Fame slugger chose to honor him, but certainly their former rival on the Athletics and Yankees was deserving of any accolades directed his way. The "Lord Elgin" wristwatch boasts a uniquely decorated dial that reads, "Boston Red Sox" and "Baseball Hall of Fame," while the reverse is engraved, "May 7, 1955, Frank Baker," presumably the date that the star ballplayer was honored at Fenway. We note that the Sox did host the Yankees this day. Watch and band exhibit wear, and the watch does not appear to function at this time. Acquired by our consignor from Baker's granddaughter.
