    Description

1953 New York Yankees Silver Presentation Tray from The Ralph Houk Collection. One of the men responsible for the New York Yankees success of the 1950's and early '60's was Ralph Houk. After his eight year pinstriped career concluded, Houk settled in as the team's skipper. This silver presentation tray was issued to Houk following the Yankees' 1953 triumph. The 12 7/8" circular issue features a baseball motif and facsimilie signatures of the players. The team's five consecutive championships and a team emblem are etched into the center. Regular surface wear and an occasional scratch is visible. These were only issued to players, team executives and never made for commercial sale. Originally sourced from Houk's family. Letter of provenance from Ralph Houk's daughter (copy of original).
