Description

1952 New York Yankees World Championship Presentational Pocket Watch. Rare timepiece was presented only to players, VIP's and front office workers who contributed to the Yankee cause for this fourth consecutive World Championship season. The initials of Blanche Spink, wife of The Sporting News publisher J.G. Taylor Spink, join the "World Champions" engraving on verso does not appear to coincide with a roster player. "New York Yankees 1952" accompanies a bat and hat logo at center. "Wittnauer" brand watch features an art deco face and still functions perfectly. Some oxidation is apparent, with a small dent at the edge of the case, but the fine historical relevance is unaffected. Diameter 1.4".
