1951 "Shoeless Joe" Jackson's Personal Copy of Reinstatement Resolution from State of South Carolina with Jackson Letter of Appreciation. "Whereas, nearly thirty-two years have elapsed since the scandal of the 1919 World Series..." begins the two typed legal pages that lays out South Carolina's case for the reinstatement of their native son. The text goes on to discuss Jackson's fielding percentage and batting average in the controversial Fall Classic and closes with a directive to "send copies of this resolution to the Commissioner of Baseball, the President of the American Baseball League, the President of the National Baseball League, and Joe Jackson." Also here is an onion-skin typed copy (unsigned) of a letter of thanks from Jackson to the South Carolina House of Representatives for their efforts. General handling wear and original storage/mailing folds, otherwise no noteworthy problems.
