1951 Chesterfield Cigarettes Advertising Sign with Stengel, Durocher. The banner fluttering over the heads of this Hall of Fame managerial pair dates this piece definitively to the season of Bobby Thomson's "Shot," the only year these two managers faced off in the Fall Classic. The 21x22" sign, produced for display solely in the Big Apple, shows original storage folds but is otherwise in marvelous condition, with bright colors and only very minor instances of creasing or tearing, none of which particularly catches the eye. The sign is simply and attractively framed in gold. A fine relic from the glory days of New York City baseball.
