1951 Bill McGowan Signed Document. Longtime and colorful American League umpire William McGowan presided over games from 1925 to 1954. During his career he umpired in eight World Series and was also one of the umpires for the first All-Star Game in 1933. The offered 8x10.5" document, which is correspondence focusing on his umpire school. The document is dated 1951 and is signed "Bill" clearly by McGowan in bold and blue ink. Piece exhibits moderate wear and the typical horizontal folds. Auction LOA from JSA.
