1950's Richie Ashburn Game Worn Philadelphia Phillies Jacket. Only five numbers have been permanently retired within the Philadelphia Phillies organization. Richie Asburn's number 1 will never be worn by another member of the team. The Hall of Fame outfielder, and winner of two batting titles, was a lifelong Philly. After his playing career concluded, Ashburn settled into the booth where he remained popular with the fans and shared on-air time with Harry Kalas.

Ashburn wore this "Wilson size 44" jacket when he was at the top of the his game in the 1950's. Worth special mention is a swatch in the lower left inside corner. The "7" swatch has been darkened on the uppermost stem creating "1" which was Ashburn's number. Heavy lining is affixed inside which battled those cold early and late season games. The collar holds a Wilson manufacturer's tag, size indicator and leather fastener. The original team emblem, drop shadow felt, is affixed over the heart. Leather reinforcement is found near the pocket openings. Letter of provenance from Ashburn family. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
