1950's Hank Aaron's Presentational Milwaukee Braves Jewelry Collection. All that glitters is indeed gold in this treasure trove of charms and baubles from the vault of the great Hammerin' Hank. These two distinct offerings were presented by the Braves to Aaron as gifts for his wife Barbara, to mark significant mileposts in his storied career. First is a gold charm bracelet marking Aaron's appearance in the 1955 All-Star Game, hosted by the Braves and the city of Milwaukee. Nine separate charms dangle from the links, most notably an enameled gold disk stating "National League All Star Game - 1955," with ruby at center. Other charms include an enameled "Milwaukee Braves" disk, a figural baseball with jeweled diamond design, a Baseball Centennial charm, and a charm in the shape of the state of Wisconsin with a diamond marking the location of Milwaukee. The other gift to Aaron's wife dates from two seasons later, and consists of a pair of earrings using the design of the 1957 Milwaukee World Series press pin. Condition of all pieces is very strong, with the occasional very minor imperfection to the enameling of certain components the only visible detraction. The collection was acquired from a neighbor of Aaron, and a good friend of his wife, who received these keepsakes directly from Barbara Aaron as tokens of their friendship. Included is a letter of provenance from Aaron's neighbor, and a jeweler's appraisal for the charm bracelet that sets the value at $990 based purely on the materials used in production, with no regard whatsoever to historic significance.
