1950's Bill Jakowski Umpire Complete Uniform. Fabulous three-piece ensemble and display representing the career of Major League umpire Bill Jackowski. He was the plate umpire on September 18, 1968 when the Cardinals' Ray Washburn pitched a no-hitter against the Giants the day after San Francisco's Gaylord Perry no-hit St. Louis, the first consecutive game no-hitters in history. It was the second no-hitter called by Jackowski that season, making him one of ten umpires to have worked the plate for two no-hitters in one season. Offered is Jackowski's game-used cap, heavy field jacket and pants. Each piece features sewn on identifiers. The jacket tags read Uniforms by Fechheimer Cincinnati. The pants have the tag 2043 B. Jackowski 43 X 28. Jackowski is listed at 5' 10" and 220 lbs. All have been well and properly cared for, showing use but no abuse. Seldom seen or offered, this group is a required element for any serious and complete game-used collection.
