Description

1948 Yankee Stadium Silver Anniversary Multi-Signed Invitation with George Ruppert. Scarce invitation to celebrate twenty-five years in the Bronx was issued to former Yank (1922-25) Whitey Witt, who made use of the blank back side of the document to acquire the autographs of seventeen banquet attendees. Most notable, perhaps, is Colonel Jake's brother George Ruppert, who took on the presidential role after his brother's passing. Also here are Ed Barrow, Bucky Harris, Waite Hoyt, Carl Mays, Wally Pipp, Wally Schang, Bob Meusel, Joe Dugan and Bob Shawkey. All autographs except one (not listed above) remain in 9/10 or better condition. Invitation has some separation at horizontal fold, but this does not affect the autographs. A piece sure to gain the attention of serious Yankees collectors. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.
