Description

1948 Satchel Paige Signed Postcard. Despite becoming the oldest player to make his major league debut in 1948 at the age of 42, Satchel Paige was still regraded as one of the toughest and smartest pitchers to ever take the mound. All of the great hitters had the utmost respect for Paige, whose constantly evolving pitching delivery and style fooled even the most cunning of the sluggers. This photo postcard (3.5x5.5") is signed by the Hall of Fame great in 8/10 black ink. Three corners (upper left missing) show the affects of scrapbook removal. Paige even offers a "Best of luck to a special fan" on the reverse. A PSA/DNA sticker appears on the postmarked side. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
