Description
1947 Honus Wagner Signed First Day Cooperstown Cover. Issued June 12, 1939, during the first ever Hall of Fame induction weekend, is this first day of issue baseball envelope. The offering has a postmark of "June 12, 1939" from Cooperstown, N.Y. Years after the envelope was issued, Wagner signed an open white area and personalized his autograph. "With best wishes to Harry Pershing from J Honus Wagner Pirates 47" is carefully scripted in 8/10 blue ink. The envelope is built into a matte frame (20.5x14"). According to the full JSA letter the inscription is indeed in Wagner's hand. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.Auction Info
