Description

1946 St. Louis Cardinals World Series Championship Ring Presented to Pitcher George Munger. It's one of the most dramatic Fall Classics in history, Enos Slaughter's "Mad Dash" proving to be the difference in the deciding seventh game, extending the Red Sox' "Curse of the Bambino" that would stretch to eighty-six seasons before its end. This particular model was issued to right-handed pitcher George Munger, who went wire to wire to even the Series at two game's apiece in a complete game twelve to three Cardinals victory.

A forty-five point diamond is set into a red stone on the ring's face, encircled by raised text announcing, "St. Louis Cardinals World Champions." Shanks are identical in design and feature the birds and bat logo and the year "1946" applied to a miniature baseball. Interior is artfully engraved "Presented to George Munger from Baseball Commissioner." Interior band is stamped "Hess & Culbertson 14K" and measures to a size ten. Marvelous condition.
