1946 Martin Dihigo Signed Cuban Baseball Contract. For collectors of twentieth century Hall of Famers, there are few targets more elusive than this Negro League legend whose twenty-five seasons of professional ball made him a star in three nations (United States, Mexico, and his Cuban homeland). Like most veterans of the loose affiliation of teams and organizing bodies filed under the heading of "Negro League Baseball," Dihigo led a peripatetic professional life, wearing the uniform of fourteen different franchises, but the teams most familiar to an American collecting audience to enjoy Dihigo's services will be the Homestead Grays, the Hilldale Giants and the New York Cubans.

Here he finds himself on the other side of the business arrangement, as an official authorizing the participation of a player named Antonio Rodriguez in the Cuban Professional Baseball League. That's Dihigo's signature at lower right, applied to the single 11x8.5" page with 9/10 boldness. The page exhibits a degree of foxing and original storage fold lines. Rodriguez' photograph is glued to the top of the page. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
