1946 Joe Garagiola St. Louis Cardinals Uniform Player's Rookie Contract. After nine years playing in the Majors, and fifty-seven in the broadcast booth, this beloved baseball man retired in 2013 to spend more time with his wife of sixty-three years, a woman he calls, "the best catch I ever made." But Garagiola was a twenty-year old bachelor when it all began with this contract that fortuitously made him a member of his hometown St. Louis Cardinals just five months before they'd defeat the Boston Red Sox in the World Series. His rare, "Joseph H. Garagiola" signature joins that of team president Sam Breadon on page two, agreeing to a $600 monthly salary. League president Ford Frick signs the cover. All ink and the contract itself survive in magnificent condition. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
