1946-47 Chicago Cubs Game Worn #7 Jacket Attributed to Bobby Sturgeon. To combat those windy conditions at Wrigley Field, this jacket was produced. We believe the jacket was used in the between 1946-47 given the cut of the emblem matches the style used during that time period. A Cubs emblem is placed over the heart on front and "7" is written on in fading black marker. Utility infielder Bobby Sturgeon claimed those digits during this time period. Ribbed red material surrounds the neckline, sleeve ends and tail for a dose of aesthetics. Applied in the collar is an "Alvin Mfg. Co. Garments" manufacturer's label and suspended "[size] 48" indicator. We are unable to attribute the use to a single player given the fact teams carried these type of jackets for years on end. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
