    Description

1945 Tom Yawkey Handwritten & Signed Letter to Walter Briggs, Sr. Two weeks after the Detroit Tigers bested the Chicago Cubs in a hard fought and thrilling seven-game Fall Classic, Boston Red Sox owner Tom Yawkey penned this two-page handwritten and signed letter to Tigers' owner Walter Briggs, Sr., thanking him for an "Eversharp pen" and congratulating his "World Champions." Written and signed by the Hall of Famer in NRMT black fountain pen on "South Island Plantation, Georgetown, South Carolina" letterhead. Yawkey still holds the distinction of being the sole owner of a Major League team for the longest period of time at forty-four years. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
