Description

1945 Mel Ott Signed Letter. Just months before the victorious close of the Second World War, the Hall of Fame slugger for the New York Giants mailed this letter of thanks to a Navy officer in appreciation for treatment his team received during a series of exhibition games at the US Naval Training Center in Bainbridge, Tennessee. The single typed page on onion skin paper is signed at the close with flawless 10/10 black fountain pen ink. The page itself is likewise free of troubles, bearing only the original mailing folds. A rare and highly desirable TLS from the third man to summit the 500 Home Run plateau. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
