    Description

1945-46 Stan Musial US Navy Foot Locker. During The Man's noble service to our nation during the Second World War, this rather rustic wooden box was his daily companion, containing his uniform and quite possibly even his baseball gear during his period of enlistment. Military stenciling attributing the foot locker to Musial appears on the lid along with other writing, with addresses both for Musial's base in San Francisco and his home in Donora, Pennsylvania. Dimensions 14x18x34". The foot locker exhibits expected wear but remains solid and complete. A special relic of war-time baseball.
Letter of provenance from the Musial family.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
