Description

1943 Johnny Evers Handwritten Signed Letter. The Hall of Fame second baseman for the last Chicago Cubs team to celebrate a World Championship graciously responds to a young autograph collector, noting, "I never fail to comply with the wishes of my vast army of young American Boys who think so much of me." All ink, penned upon the letterhead of Evers' eponymous sporting goods company, registers at a strength of 9/10, as does the closing signature applied in its most desirable format: "John J. Evers (Johnny), Tinker to Evers to Chance." Page exhibits original mailing folds and tack holes at the corners but presents wonderfully. One of the most desirable examples we've encountered from the tiny supply of the coveted Evers ALS. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
