    Description

1942 Walter Johnson Handwritten Signed Letter.
A mere four years before his death, Walter Johnson wrote this letter to a well-wisher. Baseball is the central theme on the letter, written in Johnson's hand on his personal stationery. Johnson scribed the following: "Dear Harry: Was real glad to hear from you glad to know also that you have learned to cover second base. I have been on the farm for some time and and am enjoying life. Was up to New York short time ago first time I have been away for a long time. I hope to see the series Harry and will be at the New Yorker so be sure to look me up. Good luck Harry and thanks a lot for the letter Sincerely Yours, Walter Johnson."

This letter (7.5x11") may have been written to Harry Ruby, the composer and screenwriter who resided in California. We are not able to confirm this. Framed at 26.5x25.5." Full LOA from James Spence Authentication. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from SGC Authentic.
