    Description

1942 Mel Ott Signed Check. Securing checks is a great way for autograph collectors to cross a name off of their want list. While some checks are readily available, others are nearly impossible to find. We searched the auction archives and this is only the second Mel Ott signed check we could find. It is almost a given that a hoard of Ott checks will never surface for the collecting world to fight over. This signed check, from "Manufacturers Trust Company," was issued as payment to Ott for the sum of $425 on September 10, 1942. Ott endorsed the reverse in black fountain pen. Someone pasted a photo of the Hall of Famer to the opposite end. Bank cancelation holes escape the elusive autograph.
