Description

1941 Hugh Duffy Signed Government Postcard. Inducted to the Hall of Fame four years after mailing this postcard to a fan, Duffy posted one of the greatest seasons in baseball history in 1894, winning the Triple Crown with eighteen home runs, 145 runs batted in and an outrageous .440 average. His 10/10 black fountain pen signature is notated "Red Sox Coach" in Duffy's hand, and bears a postmark from his Boston hometown. One of many government postcards from the collection of young Howard Lyon presented within this auction. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA for protection and unquestioned authenticity.
