    Description

1941 Gabby Hartnett Gold Lifetime Major League Pass. Widely considered to be the greatest catcher of the first half of the twentieth century, Hartnett is best remembered today for his dramatic "Homer in the Gloaming" during the Chicago Cubs thrilling and ultimately successful late-season charge toward the 1938 National League pennant. This gleaming ten-karat gold presentational piece was issued to Hartnett three years later, at the close of a remarkable Hall of Fame career. The 1.75x2.75" pass is engraved, "The National/American Major Leagues of Professional Baseball Present This Lifetime Pass to Gabby Hartnett in Appreciation of Twenty Years Service." The facsimile signature of League presidents Harridge and Frick are at bottom. The pass exhibits light corner wear from its years in Gabby's wallet, but still presents perfectly.
