1941 Cum Posey Handwritten Signed Letter with Josh Gibson Content. Extraordinary two-page letter on "Negro National League" letterhead was written by the Hall of Famer and principal owner of the Homestead Grays to Detroit Tigers team owner Walter Briggs. He requests access to Briggs Stadium and touts the strength of the league he represents, writing, "I still think we have the Major League of Negro Baseball." He goes on to report that "We have 'Josh' Gibson with us again. He is the Babe Ruth of Negro Baseball but jumped us in 1940 to play in Mexico in 1940 and 1941." His closing, "Yours, Cum Posey," is applied in the same 9/10 pencil that characterizes the entirety of the correspondence. Original mailing folds with no condition problems to mention.
