1940's Satchel Paige Negro League Kansas City Monarchs vs. Harlem Stars Broadside With Goose Tatum. Because playing in the Negro Leagues wasn't the most lucrative job for Satchel Paige, he took the show on the road and participated in plenty of exhibition contests throughout his career. Held at Victory Field in Indianapolis is this 13.75x22" broadside promoting a contest between the Kansas City Monarchs and Harlem Stars. The Harlem Stars featured Goose Tatum, who played in the Negro Leagues and but became a national figure with the Harlem Globetrotters. Images of Paige and Tatum are featured. The white has turned into a cream color from age/storage. Light paper loss is visible on the lower right corner.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
