1940's Denny Galehouse Game Worn Fielder's Glove. Without the attack on Pearl Harbor, the lowly St. Louis Browns might never have enjoyed the sight of the American League flag over their ballpark, having only once finished in the top half of the Junior Circuit since the stock market crash of 1929. But all the old trends went out the window as most future Hall of Famers answered Uncle Sam's call, and here we find a glove used by Browns pitcher Galehouse dating to that tumultuous era. "Gale" is written on the wrist strap beside the "Rawlings St. Louis" label, with "Galehouse" penned inside. Very strong wear is evident throughout. Glove expert Joe Phillips believes this is a "Rawlings MC" model (for Mort Cooper), a common glove for pitchers in the 1940's, though the markings are faded beyond legibility through age and wear. LOA from Joe Phillips.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
