1940's Babe Ruth Double-Signed Baseball Glove. Joltin' Joe and the great Bambino are linked by this special offering that finds a glove endorsed by the former signed twice by the latter. While Ruth autographs could not properly be characterized as rare, that adjective does indeed apply when narrowing the range to signed gloves. And double-signed gloves? We'd be willing to bet this is the only one on Earth. It would appear that Ruth was unsatisfied with his first attempt on the pinky--blue ink rating 5/10--thus switching writing utensils to deliver an 8/10 upgrade in black on the thumb. Another unidentifiable signature appears beside the "Joe DiMaggio" stamping on palm side of glove, invisible upon display of the Ruths.

It is noteworthy that this glove derives from Ruth's final public autograph signing, a 1948 Spencer, Iowa event in conjuction with Ford Motor Company in support of youth baseball. Heritage offered a selection of high-grade single signed baseballs from the same event in our May 2012 Signature auction. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
