    1939 Walter Johnson Signed Hall of Fame Grand Opening First Day Cover, PSA/DNA Authentic. Adorned with gold foil embossing and a small photographic image of the the Big Train as manager of the Cleveland Indians, this first day cover commemorating the Grand Opening of the Baseball Hall of Fame bears a 6/10 black fountain pen ink signature. Envelope is toned by age but otherwise free of any condition concerns. Pencil writing in an unknown hand appears at lower right.

    This first day cover is one of of eleven consigned to this auction by the son of the gentleman who collected Baseball Hall of Fame signatures in person and through the mail between 1939 and the 1950's. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA, Authentic
