1939 Eddie Collins Signed Baseball Centennial First Day Cover. If Eddie Collins had played in any other era, he may be considered the greatest hitter of his age. But Collins had to compete against Ty Cobb and couldn't claim a batting title with averages like .372, .365 or .360. How is that for competition? A fielding dynamo and baseball intellect, Collins joined the Hall of Fame with the likes of Cobb and Ruth in 1936. Collins penned his unmistakable signature to this baseball centennial first day cover - stamped "June 12 1939 Cooperstown N.Y." Whoever got Collins' autograph reserved the back for secretarial signatures of Joe Cronin, Lefty Grove, Jimmie Foxx and one more. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
